The Print ShopHours
OriginalsA reproduction is usually only as good as its original. Camera- or copy-ready originals provide the best results. This fact can not be stressed enough. If your originals aren’t in good shape, we will do our best to produce the highest possible quality from them. This also applies to print jobs that are brought in on a flashdrive or a disk. As the Print Shop is not a computer lab, computer projects need to be brought in ready to print. Constructing the job at the Print Shop takes up too much time and isn't fair to anyone that comes in later with a camera ready project. Originals can also include documents and pictures from floppy disks, zip disks, CDs, jump drives, and memory sticks. Originals can be dropped off at the print shop or send via e-mail to printshop@luther.edu. How long will a job take?Though job processing times can vary, the following is a good guide:
Policy Changes for the Print shop Effective January 1,2008, the following policy changes will take effect: 1. The Print Shop will economize and reduce the inventory on hand. There will be a limited variety of colors in stock based on popular demand. 2. The Print Shop will facilitate special orders but will require sufficient notice to accommodate them. Some specialty paper may take up to two weeks for delivery so this means that departments will need to plan accordingly. 3. In an emergent situation, the Print Shop can order paper shipped via express at the department's expense. All orders are contingent upon the availability of the paper. 4. All special orders must be ordered by the case. Since paper mills do not sell paper by the ream, the Print Shop must maintain that a special order is a minimum of one case of paper. The ordering department will be charged for and own the entire case of paper. 5. In placing a special order, a 2-part form is available at the Print Shop. The department or the customer ordering the paper should fill out this order form and return it to the Print Shop. Both the department/customer and the Print Shop will retain a copy of the order form. An electronic version of the order form is also available on the Print Shop web page. 6. The department's Datatel number is required before an order can be placed. This is a mandatory element of the purchase order. 7. Once the job is completed, any remaining paper is the property of the department. We will no longer be able to provide storage of excess paper. 8. In lieu of special orders, the department may supply their own paper; however, our equipment requires certain standards of paper, so the Print Shop will evaluate the weight and type of paper and reserves the right to refuse use of the provided paper.
